First runner-up as well as Miss Photogenic of the first Star Search '88, a bi-annual nationwide talent search, Aileen proved to be a versatile and promising actress who competently handled diverse lead roles. Besides the local scene, Aileen was also nominated for the Best Actress award in the Magnolia Awards '94 in China for her role in The Blazing Trail as an undercover cop. Best known for her dramatic roles, her moving portrayal of a housewife in Bond of Love also led to the serial being named the best family drama in Sarawak, Malaysia. A very dedicated showperson, Aileen's commitment in her work has seen her acting relentlessly to complete filming schedules despite being ill or injured. In 2001, Aileen bagged the Best Actress award in Star Awards, an annual award ceremony for TV personalities, for her outstanding performance in the Chinese drama, 3 Women And A Half.
Besides acting, Aileen is also a competent compere for Chinese variety shows. Not one to sit idle, Aileen also tried her hands at theatre in the Toy Factory production, where she played a coquettish woman in I Have A Date With Spring. Aileen made her first crossover to English drama in the award-winning local drama series, Growing Up.Off camera, this bilingual actress who has a heart of compassion is often involved in fund-raising charity events and community service.
